This is a Water Pump Outlet Nipple for 5/8" thread and 5/8" hose. Fits Chevrolet & GMC cars & trucks from 1935-1954. Check thread size before ordering.

This water pump packing is the original type used by General Motors on most 1916-1938 GM Vehicles, including Chevrolet cars and Chevy & GMC trucks. 5/8" ID x 15/16" OD x 1/4" Thick. Sold in pairs - up to 4 pieces required when rebuilding a water pump. Replaces GM# 353298. Correct for 1915-1936 but will work as a replacement packing on 1937-1938.

This lubricant is designed to be used to prevent rust in radiators of early cars with no thermostat. Early cars do not have a pressurized cooling system and, therefore, should not be using antifreeze. When antifreeze is used in cooling systems without thermostats, foaming of the antifreeze will occur. This will push out through the radiator cap and appear that the radiator is running hot, even when it is normal. Because this is a water soluble oil, it will prevent rust and corrosion in your early engine cooling system.
