This water pump is used specifically when installing a 1955-1962 Chevrolet 235 or 261 CID engine into a 1954 or earlier Chevrolet or GMC car or truck. It has a shortened shaft to allow for radiator clearance needed in earlier cars & trucks. This is a new conversion pump and it comes with a new pulley, fan spacer and gasket for a quick, easy installation. This is a NEW water pump with BLACK PULLEY. Replaces GM# 3741033
NOTE: Using this pump requires a newer flex style fan blade and a special lower radiator hose. Another option is AF-65 adapter plate which uses a 1953-1954 water pump and original fan blade. It keeps the fan blade mounted in the original position.
