These REAR air shocks fit 1947-1955 (1st Series) Chevy & GMC pickups and 1949-1957 Chevrolet passenger cars. Note: Truck applications are for 1/2 ton models with tube shocks. Kit comes with installation hardware. The Max-Air® shock absorber is ideal for vehicles that haul heavy loads or tow trailers. Designed to maintain level vehicle height, they can be inflated or deflated as needed...from 20 psi to 150 psi with the vehicle loaded. This is a lever arm shock rebuilding service for 1930-1949 Chevrolet cars & trucks. Lever action shocks had many different designs over the years, but the basic design is the same. Some shocks were single action (resistance in only one direction) and some were dual action (resistance in both directions). All of these shocks have a cast housing with an arm that pivots. We must have your old, rebuildable shock absorber as this is a rebuilding service only. If you cannot provide original cores, we may be able to find cores for additional cost. Please allow 3-4 weeks for this service.
