NOTE: This alternator is a one wire alternator, however the belt must be tight enough so that, when trying to turn the alternator fan, you cannot slip it by hand. DO NOT CHECK BELT TENSION BY PUSHING ON THE BELT. In some cases the alternator needs higher RPMs to activate. Once the alternator activates, it will continue to charge at lower RPM.
