CAUTION! READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLATION !! Before installing these mirrors, have someone hold the mirror in place so you can see exactly how it will look once installed. You will be able to check the adjustments for visibility, especially on the passenger side. This mirror arm has been modified to fit Chevrolet applications. The hinge pin openings have been drilled out to two different sizes. THE LARGER HINGE PIN OPENING MUST BE ON TOP. Use masking tape to cover painted areas on the door and body to protect the paint when installing the hinge pin. To mount the mirror to the hinge, place the mirror over the hinge with the large hole at the top. Slide the hinge pin into the top hole and make sure the bottom hole aligns snugly with the end of pin. If the hinge is less than 2-1/4" you can make a small spacer to take up the extra space on the pin. Use a small metal tubing or rubber fuel hose and cut to fit. Tap the hinge pin into place making sure that the knurled shoulder of the pin gets seated into the upper mirror bracket opening. If necessary, remove the short set screws that come with the mirror. You will need to drill a small hole into the hinge cover, through the upper hole for the set screw. Align the mirror where you can best see to the rear. Use the set screw hole as a guide to drill the hole. Make this hole smaller than the diameter of the set screw as this will act as a pilot hole for locking the mirror in place. Use the longer set screws provided to lock the mirror in place. NOTE: Unless your hinge cover is 2" high, the lower set screw may not be useable. However, one set screw will hold the mirror securely in place.
