The 1936 half ton pickup came in two different versions. This is the early version called the High Roof, which has a separate sheet metal roof with drip rail. It also has three door hinges and different windshield frame with piano hinge on top. The swing-out windshield frame was operated manually by releasing wing nuts on either side to allow the arms to slide out and be clamped in the open positiion. Though these pickups have the same chassis, fenders, pickup box In a change from 1935, the hood now has horizontal louvers and the Chevrolet emblem was moved from the grille shell to the upper grille insert. For the first time, a large Bowtie emblem was mounted on the hood sides. abvoe the louvers.
1936 1/2 ton Trucks were designated as FB Series, part of the Master Series and came with a 206.5 cubic inch inline six cylinder engine, syncromesh 3-speed transmission, Master dash gauges and a glove box. 1/2 ton models had a 112 inch wheelbase and hydraulic brakes. 1936 was the first year of hydraulic brakes on Chevy cars & trucks.
