The 1936 half ton pickup came in two different versions. This is the mid year version called the Low Roof, which has a one-piece stamped cab It also has two door hinges and a crank-out windshield frame with two separate hinges on top. The crank-out windshield frame was operated by a crank handle in the center of the dash. In a change from 1935 trucks, the hood now has horizontal louvers and the Chevrolet emblem was moved from the grille shell to the upper grille insert. For the first time, a large Bowtie emblem was mounted on the hood sides. abve the louvers.
1936 1/2 ton Trucks were designated as FB Series, part of the Master Series and came with a 206.5 cubic inch inline six cylinder engine, syncromesh 3-speed transmission, Master dash gauges and a glove box. 1/2 ton models had a 112 inch wheelbase and hydraulic brakes with 17 inch wheels. 1936 was the first year of hydraulic brakes on Chevy cars & trucks.
