This body style was a precursor of the Station Wagon, commonly known as a Depot Hack. In the early 1930's Chevrolet offered these bodies for sale but they were not built by Chevrolet. Aftermarket body builders like Campbell, Sheffield, Martin-Parry and Hercules built the body on a Chevrolet 1/2 Ton truck chassis. The 1932 version of this vehicle featured a 194 cubic inch six cylinder engine that produced 60 horsepower. It came with a downdraft carburetor, counterbalanced crankshaft, electric starter, 3-speed manual syncromesh transmission, 18" wire wheels, and 4-wheel mechanical brakes.
The base Chevrolet chassis that was provided to the body builder would have everything from the dashboard forward, including , dash panel with gauges, hood, radiator, radiator apron, front & rear fenders, running boards, splash aprons, tires & wheels. The body company then built everything from the windshield back to the rear of the chassis.
